Panel Representative: John Loughnan
Mr. Loughnan is the Vice President of Technical Developments and Innovations, for the aggregate operations of Miller Paving Ltd.
In his past 27 years with the Company, he has been involved with the asphalt plants, hot mix production, quality control and managing the company’s gravel and quarry operations in Southern Ontario.
He is a Past President of the Ontario Hot Mix Producers where he played a prominent role and headed up the Environmental Committee. This committee was responsible for producing the “Environmental Practices Guide” for the hot mix asphalt plants that is widely used today by both producers and the Environment Ministry of the Ontario Government
He was recently involved with the OSSGA and Golders , as the Producers Project Lead, in a two year project for the “Carden Cumulative Impact Assessment” that was initiated by the Ministry of Environment. This study assessed the effects of the eleven quarries operating in the Carden Plain near Orillia, on the ground and surface water along with the natural environment.
