Thomas Mueller is a Founding Director of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and became President & CEO of the Council in 2005. In this role, he leads Council sustainability efforts to transform the building and real estate industry in Canada.
Prior to 2005 Thomas chaired the LEED BC Steering Committee, a partnership of local and provincial government agencies and utilities, which was responsible for the first adaptation of the LEED building rating system outside the U.S. He also chaired the Vancouver Chapter of the CaGBC from 2002-2005 and is a past Board member of the Cascadia Green Building Council.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Green Building Council (WGBC); and the Green Building Certification Institute; and, a frequent contributor to government and industry consultations, conferences and award programs on green buildings and sustainable communities.
He is currently participating in the LEED International Roundtable, the World GBC Americas Network; the City of Vancouver Green Building Advisory Committee and is contributing to Quality Urban Systems of Tomorrow (Quest) led by the Canadian Gas Association; and the Dean’s Advisory Committee, Faculty of Environmental Studies University of Waterloo.
